Unmasking the Deception of Free Divorce Consultations

Hi, I’m a lawyer specializing in helping women divorce without getting screwed. Today, I want to address something important to avoid during divorce: free divorce consultations and why they are a complete rip-off.

You might be skeptical about my claim that something free can also be a rip-off. However, here’s the reason: they ultimately waste your time. I consider my time precious; it feels like being ripped off when someone wastes it.

Let’s delve into why this is the case. To become a lawyer, one must invest significant time and money in education. And as a divorce lawyer, I’ve also dedicated my time and resources to learn about divorce and the issues people face during this process.

So why would someone who has gone through all that time, effort, and financial investment offer their product, which is their advice, for free? There are a few reasons, none of which benefit you.

First, the person offering free consultations may need more experience or may not be a good lawyer. This might be the only way they can attract clients. Your divorce settlement, which I refer to as a settlement because the majority of cases do settle, is one of the most significant business and personal deals of your life. You don’t want to entrust someone who doesn’t know what they’re doing with something so important.

Second, the person might be a skilled lawyer but needs more business acumen to run their practice effectively. Lawyers aren’t typically taught how to run a business in law school; some need help. By offering free consultations, they believe they are doing what they should, but they need to run a better business model. Do you want to rely on a poorly managed business for necessary divorce proceedings?

Third, some lawyers are afraid. Yes, even lawyers experience fear. They fear that with so much competition, they can only secure clients by offering free consultations. But if they are too afraid to stand up for themselves, how can you trust them to fight for your interests and negotiate? It raises doubts about what they can do for you if they cannot advocate for themselves.

Your life and divorce settlement is significant; you deserve someone who knows what they’re doing. You want an experienced lawyer capable of running their practice effectively and unafraid to stand up for your rights.

Free divorce consultation is one of the biggest mistakes that divorcing women make. As someone with extensive experience in divorce law, I address the most significant mistakes divorcing women make in my free eBook, which you can find on my website.
